The Contribution of Knowledge Exchange and Relational Capital to Project Success in Information Systems Development Efforts
This is the home page for my doctoral dissertation effort at Nova Southeastern University. It serves as a central point for information and materials related to the study. Special thanks to my committee chair, Dr. Steven Zink, and committee members Dr. Yair Levy and Dr. Sumitra Mukherjee of the School of Computer and Information Sciences (SCIS) at Nova.
About the study

The process
The dissertation process is different from school to school. At Nova, the dissertation process has four stages:
1) The idea paper is used to demonstrate that the student has a basic grasp of the topic and has put enough effort into it that he or she has a reasonable chance of success. The idea paper is used to recruit members of the dissertation committee, who will guide the student through the subsequent stages.
2) The proposal is a full survey of the literature and formal experiment plan. The plan has to be complete and ready to execute, because the next stage is:
3) The experiment is a straightforward plan execution and data collection effort.
4) The disseration, or formal report, includes results of the experiment (good or bad), the conclusions reached by the student, and ideas for continuing research. Once this is approved, the student has officially Piled it Higher and Deeper.
Current status
January, 2008: It looks like the idea paper is finally robust enough to pass muster, so now I start the proposal. One of the keys to success for this experiment will be recruiting a good set of survey participants, so I'm starting that effort in parallel with the survey development effort. This is probably why you're looking at this page right now.

Various artifacts
When I actually produce something that's acceptable to the committee, I'll post it here.
